Privacy Policy

Pathfinder ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by PB Labs Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect through the Pathfinder application (the "App"), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy covers all users of the App, including:

• Guest users who use the App without creating an account.
• Registered users who create an account (for example via email, Google, or Apple sign-in).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account we collect information such as:

• Email address
• Display name (optional)
• Profile details you choose to provide (optional)
• Sign-in method (for example email, Google, or Apple)

Guest accounts use anonymous authentication and collect no personal identifiers.

2.2 Content You Provide

We store the information and content you enter or upload while using the App, so we can provide the service to you. This may include text you enter, records or items you create, photographs you attach, and any notes or settings associated with them.

2.3 Usage and App Settings

• Your app preferences and configuration
• Notification preferences
• Privacy and visibility settings

2.4 Subscription Information

If the App offers paid features, we record your subscription status (for example trial, active, cancelled, or expired), the plan type, and renewal dates. Payment is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store; we never see or store your card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the App and its features to you
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure
• To sync your data across your devices where you use an account
• To send notifications you have chosen to receive
• To manage any subscription entitlement
• To let you import and export your own data

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

4. Local Storage

The App stores data locally on your device so it works reliably, including your content, settings, and cached data. Local data is scoped to your user so that multiple users on the same device cannot access each other's data.

Guest users' data is stored locally only and is not uploaded to our servers.

5. Cloud Storage

For registered users, your data is synchronised to our backend, hosted on Supabase (a managed PostgreSQL service). Data is transmitted over HTTPS, and access rules ensure you can only access your own data. Some file content may be stored with a reputable third-party storage provider; where that applies it is covered by the same access controls.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services to provide its features (for example authentication, cloud storage, subscription management, and, where relevant, mapping or notifications). Each such provider has its own privacy policy, and we share with them only the data needed to deliver the relevant feature. We will keep this section updated as the App's integrations are finalised.

7. Device Permissions

The App requests only the device permissions it needs to function (for example camera, photos, location, or notifications, depending on the features you use). You can review and revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings; revoking a permission disables the related feature but does not affect data you have already stored.

8. Data Retention

• Account data: retained until you delete your account.
• Your content: retained until you delete it or delete your account.
• Subscription records: retained for a reasonable period after expiry to handle disputes and restore purchases.
• Guest data: stored locally only; deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: obtain a copy of your data, where an export feature is available in the App.
• Correction: edit your profile and content directly in the App.
• Deletion: delete your account, which permanently removes your profile and content from our servers.
• Portability: obtain a machine-readable copy of your data where an export feature is available.

10. Children's Privacy

Pathfinder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
